Patterson Elementary School enrolls more than 240 students in kindergarten through grade four. The school employs over 25 staff members. Its curriculum includes language arts, reading, music, writing, math, social studies and physical education. In addition, Patterson Elementary School maintains a library, cafeteria and gymnasium. The school has a parent-teacher organization that conducts conferences and sponsors field trips and assemblies. It offers special education classes for gifted and talented students. Patterson Elementary School administers an enrichment literature circles program. The school also serves lunch and breakfast. It is a part of Tecumseh Public Schools, which provides educational opportunities for nearly 3,190 children.
