Paying a huge amount of money to replace your transmission is never happy, but Blaine made it as nice as it could be They got it done in time and stuck with their quote.
If you read a good review about Tanner Transmission they wrote it themselves.Look up the Better Business Bureau score on Tanner Transmission & it will be clear why using them is the worst decision for you, your car & your money that you could make.Tanner Transmission will rebuild your transmission and it will never work the same again.Youll be out of your money and they won't give you a refund as is what happened to us in our experience dealing with them. They held my car hostage for several months with sketchy updates that never added up coming ONLY when we ourselves called.Greed and very sketchy ethics start with Blaine Tanner, and it affects the entire operation. They have zero customer service or structure for communication in their company. If youre thinking about working with Tanner Transmission, DONT DO IT, go to Aamco or Tranmission City, or any other option other than these guys. Not a single good thing will come from your experience other than giving your money away to a crook.
Tanner Transmissions was on time and on budget. The on time part was very important to me, as I needed to have a car to do my job. Jim the manager at the State Street Shop told me it would take a maximum of three days to repair the clutch in my Toyota he under promised and over delivered it took Tanner only about one and half days. When the last time a mechanic did that for you? Anyway I was able to plan for other transportation. I have not been told the whole truth by some other mechanics and it was refreshing to have someone come out and give me the facts. The price wasn't so bad either.
Bob was so helpful, he treated me with respect and i really felt like he cared about my truck. He kept me informed as to what the progress was and he explained everything so i could understand.
I usually never provide recommendations or reviews. However, for Tanner Transmissions I will make sure to go out of my way to recommend their services to anyone needing a mechanic. I had a crazy issue with my transmission and ABS system that would intermittently engage when braking normally. This was a huge problem and no one could diagnose the root cause. I was actually told by another mechanic that I was lying the ABS system was fine. Jim had my vehicle one day, invested the time to test drive my car till the problem happened again. They he identified and replaced a faulty brake sensor within a few hours and had the car back to me with no issues. Tanner Transmissions are professional, reliable mechanics you can trust.
Definitely a 5 star experience! Blaine and the guys were great to work with. Very accommodating and on time. They worked late to get it fixed and put me back on the road. I will be back with future vehicles if needed.
They have provided exceptional service!
My daughter was told she needed a new transmission for her car and asked for my assistance. We phoned a friend who recommended Tanner Transmission, in Taylorsville. The service was prompt, accurate and they replaced the only 1 (one) part that was needed, which was not a complete new transmission. I am thankful for their honesty and great reputation. While waiting for the repair, I noticed each and every customer enter with a smile and leave the same way. I recommend their service to anyone in Utah that needs transmission repair or transmission maintenance my little girls 2004 Honda Civic is doing just great now.
My tip is to give Tanner Transmission a shot! They have been great to me and my car. Very professional and kind, and all of the mechanics who work here really seem to know what they are doing. I haven't had a problem with my car since having it worked on by Tanner's!
I had them swap out the old and do modifications for new 5-speed w/overdrive tranny in my classic 69 Mach1. They treated that car with kid gloves and it all works perfectly. More recently they put a new clutch in my 05 Tacoma. Their price was better than either of the Toyota dealers I contacted for exact same job and parts. I highly recommend them for their quality and honesty and pride in their work. Plus they have been around for 50 + years and I tryst he work hat they do.
I heard from the shop a few hours after dropping the car off. Unfortunately, the news was not so good. However, Tanner Transmissions in Taylorsville performed a miracle at a more than fair price. Sensing my frustration, they offered a great deal fixing the fundamental transmission problems with the car. No body I know likes to spend allot on car repair but at least at I won't have to spend anymore on Transmission repair.
Just wanted to thank you for the great service you have provided to our family's fleet of cars over the past many years. Due to your expert care we have several cars that are almost twenty years old and still running smoothly. We also appreciate your honest recommendations as to what work has been needed and your very fair pricing policies. It has been very rewarding to deal with someone you have complete trust in and is not trying to rip you off as so many business do. Thanks again for your prompt and efficient service. We hope you will have a very prosperous and successful year ahead at your Redwood Road location.
My old Ford F-150 4X4 transmission finally died. So I check around to get it replaced. I check out 2 other shops that fix and re-build transmissions. My neighbors recommend that I give Tanner Transmission a call, as he had his wife’s car fixed by them like 7 years ago and still no problems. So I ended up at Tanner and I bought their Ownership transmission, that’s supposed to be good for as long as you own the vehicle. You can’t transfer it to a new owner but I didn’t care, cause I’m keeping my old truck. Could have got a three year transmission for about 3K but I chose to go with the more expensive ownership warranty, because like I said; I have had this Great Ford Truck for 20 years come 2012, let’s see if I can get another 200,000 miles out of the old gal with this new transmission from Tanner. We shall see. Here’s why the review. I picked my truck at the beginning of the month and it ran great but all of a sudden it started to stick between 2nd and third. So I took it back and right away Tanner fixed it. There was some kind of computer, electrical issue but because I had just bought the ownership warranty they gave me a rental car for the day until they took care of the problem. So that the reason for the positive review. I would have given them 5 stars if the electrical computer thing had not happened but the rental sure deserves at least 4 stars.
I Really Do Feel Good About Going To Tanner Transmissions. So it’s Black Friday and my car is in the transmission shop waiting to get it’s transmission fixed. Just what I wanted for Christmas, a big transmission bill. So why the review? I just got a call from Jerry down at the Taylorsville location of Tanner Transmissions and instead of needing a new transmission on my Mazda MDX I get to replace a couple of parts and labor for $950.00. I had to agree to a $650.00 inspection to take it apart which to tell the truth I was not nuts about but because they did the internal inspection I ended up not needing a new transmission for over $3,500.00. So good decision in the end. So why am I happy everyone I talked to, dealers and other transmission shops were sure it was a complete waste of a transmission but like I said I got away lucky. Tanner could have made a bunch of money but they were honest. They had to sell me on the idea of getting the inspection that cost money buy because everyone and myself were sure that the transmission was shoot why not take it apart to see what was wrong? It worked out. When I pick up my car Jerry ask me to post a review so I said I post a bunch. . Would recommend you check them out. Merlyn in Taylorsville.
