Wistar ("Tim") Moore III, MD, is a cardiothoracic surgeon with particular interest in minimally invasive valve surgery, mitral valve repair, ascending aortic aneurysm repair, atrial fibrillation surgery and transcatheter aortic valve replacement. A North Carolina native, he played football at UNC-Chapel Hill where he subsequently earned his medical degree. He went on to complete residencies in general surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, and cardiothoracic surgery at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals in Atlanta. He is the author of Surviving the Suffering: A Christian Heart Surgeon Looks at Life's Pain, inspired by his close relationship with his patients and their families as they navigate difficult health journeys. Dr. Moore is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Chest Physicians.
