I paid $417 for the installation of a part they did not have on the truck at the time and now the only phone numbers I can find are disconnected or out of order. They promised to come back in 2 days to install it and then had to reschedule. On that day they "had trouble with transportation" and would come out the following week. I have used this company for almost 20 yrs and have never had trouble before. Here it is, 2 weeks and still no part and the check has been cashed. What kind of business sense is this? Thinking seriously about cancelling my contract with them.

I used this company for 3 years back in 2009. They still continuously call me 1 to 2 times a week morning or afternoon doesn't matter. I have asked them several times to stop calling me I don't use their services any more! And guess what they still call me... if they do have new management they still have a lot to workout with customer quality. This is a real review and I will stamp my name to it. So once again stop calling me please mike gibson of plant city fl....thank you!!

RECENTLY WINTONS WENT UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT. NOT ONLY ARE THEY DOING A GREAT JOB AT SERVING THE TAMPA AREA THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS RATED NUMBER ONE.WINTYONS IS A 60 YR OLD COMPANY AND WHEN IT COMES TO AIR COND AND HEATING THEY LEAD THE WAY. GREAT JOB WINTONS KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

RUN! Made mistake of taking out large loan for work which wasn't done. They are quick to take your money, but all they give is excuses , false promises, and lies and work is never completed. I will probably have to live up to the contracts I signed, (even though they don't) in order to keep my excellent credit rating, but they have lost my future business, and I'll let others in my community know how dissapointed a company they are and push not to reccomend them.

NEGATIVE 5 STARS. They were very rude and they didn't even get it fixed. They charged us about two hundred something for freon, and found 2 "problems" that needed to get fixed. Every time they went to fix something, 10 minutes later, it didn't work. We have not gotten any cool air for 5 days because of them. Plus, they refused to give us some money back, because they did not fix anything. After "fixing" some problems, they later told us we needed a new unit. After wasting all this money, we advise you not to use their services.

My mother recently had surgery and her AC froze up. They did respond quickly due to her situation, but charged her $70/lb for the R22 Freon. He told us that they don't make it any more so that is why it is so expensive. He charged her $225 for a "Booster". We still have no idea what the booster is that was installed. Her total bill was $591. I really feel they took advantage of her. BAD COMPANY TO DO BUSINESS WITH!!!! Do yourself a favor and read all the complaints with this company. Including the BBB complaints.

This company has been nothing but problems from the start! My ac recently went out and I was given a quote of $2,800 to fix it. I had someone else come out and they quoted me $300. When I asked this company to give me an itemized proposal, they said they could not provide one. It can only be given as a lump some total. I would never recommend this company.

I wish that all people would look at ratings and information about air conditioning companys before they use them. This was service to my neighbors home and she was treated very badly and she is also disabled. How can a company stay in business with so many bad ratings?

SCAM COMAPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...SCAM COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!.....SCAM COMPANY.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I originally scheduled an appointment with Winton's Air for just an air filter & look up in attic for leaks for $30. They sent out someone (was not a tech!) he then proceeded to tell me that I needed a coil clean, then a sanitztion, then a contactor, then a surge protector. Then my AC would not work, he could not fix it by process of elimination. He was on the phone constantly with someone, ( tech?) they still could not figure it out, this went on for 2+ hours. I felt that a true tech should have immediatly come out to our residence to fix the problem, did not happen!!!. When I called to ask for some type of reimbursement. They refused.................Keith Olsen. This all happened after the Winton's was paid. or they would not have recieved that much money, which was a total of $730.00 which was supposed to be $30.00 originally.

This company was sent to my house by my landlord to fix my a/c. When they arrived they diagnosed the problem and stated a price for the part needed at a $200 mark up from the wholesale price. Then when told not to do the work the technician started screaming absenities at my landlord over the phone while standingin my driveway in front of my house. I was mortified! When I called to complain I was told that the technician was justified because he was inconvenienced by having to come out and then not be able to do the job. This Company was completely Unprofessional and way over priced, AVOID THEM!

I purchased an air conditioning system from Wintons. They came out and installed the air conditioning system and did a great job. Four days later the air conditioning system stoped working. I called Wintons and a technicain was at my home within one hour. He checked the system found that the new compressor had burnt out. He got on the phone and called his office. In about one and a half hours another crew came out and replaced the entire outside unit, not just the bad part. This is a great company and I will always use them.

My power bill each month was around $493. I had a new system installed in 1/09 buy another company. Thye other company came out three times and I still had a high power bill. I called Wintons. They came out and checked the system and found that it was wired wrong. The heat and air was comeing on at the same time. They wired it correct and the bill from Wintons was $130.95. My power bill is now $153.00. I will always use Wintons. Great job.

I would rate this as a 0 !!!!!!! This business is a rip off and the people they have during the work is not professional and don't know what they are doing. I had them come to check my unit and now my unit is frozen. I have tried to contact them since July to cancel the contract with them. They don't have the respect to return the telephone calls. They will be be reported to the better business bureau

The A/C repairman (if you want to call him that) came out and stated that I needed a $3000.00 plus repair done on my A/C after his expert evaluation. I called another company who came to my house immediately after the Winton's guy left and fixed our A/C for $300.00. There was nothing wrong with my A/C except for a minor switch problem. Wintons tried to SCAM us by telling us that our unit had to be replaced!

Every time they come out, they recommend something that needs to be done that costs a lot of money. One time, they even said I needed to replace a part that I just had installed from them a few months prior. Once I told him that, he said that the part was ok. Also, I have maintenance agreement, and their own techs many times contradict and/or discredit previous techs from same company.

NO STAR RATING!!!! I wasn't able to give no stars.I would get a second opinion before you use this company. The call out fee is very reasonable, however when they come out they seem to always find a problem that will cost several hundred, or even thousands of dollars to repair. I had them check my A/C unit and was told the wires connecting the compressor needed to be replaced and would cost $345 plus $50 call out fee. I was then told the compressor would most likely be damaged and installation for a new one would cost around $3,000. I contacted another company for a second opinion who subsequently came out and repaired a couple of wires in ten minutes. He charged me $98, including his call out fee, the compressor was fine. Incidentally I was told if I did have to replace the compressor it would cost $1,700 for a new one.Winton's AC (formally Extreme Heat and A/C) have previously done work for me, now I am wondering if I was ripped off then too. Last time it cost me $1,100.

This company tried to make us pay for things were not broken but they stated that they were. They sold us a mantainace package that did not cover when the system was bad which happen to be the same problem that they initially fixed stating that it was a different issue.

Customer Satisfaction...What's That???

I will NEVER do business with this company again. Everyone I have talked to or dealt with seem to have a different answer to the same question. The manager hanging up on me when asked for his name was the last straw. I will be forced to go to the Better Business Bureau or the local news station to try to get the issue resolved if this company continues to do business this way. They DO NOT deserve to have any stars for a rating in my opinion. I have been pushed off to another person each time I have contact with them, and have been given several phone numbers to call, such as: (727) 258-8686 (813) 931-8686 (813) 930-8686 (813) 931-7901 The same person called me 8 times in 1 day, then 1 time the next day, then 1 more time 4 days later, after being told I couldn't have them come to my home for at least 2 weeks. The first day when he called 8 times, 2 of his calls were made within 3-5 minutes of each other. When I called to tell them about this, I was told someone would contact me. They NEVER did. I was the one who ended up calling them again to tell them to have their employee not to call me for 2 weeks. They have a huge ad in the yellow pages, BUT...NO ADDRESS is given for the business, and the website listed www.wintonsac.com comes back as not existing.
