Stephen J. Raterman, MD is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with over three decades of experience. He performs arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgery, as well as partial and total knee replacement in adults. As an innovator in minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Raterman helped pioneer the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing (BHR) procedure with robotic assistance. Having cared for the Tampa Bay area since 2002, Dr. Raterman is proud to offer his extensive background and technical skills to the community he calls home. His compassionate approach to care means he’ll work to fully understand the goals of each patient for their procedure and recovery and he’ll encourage their active involvement in the process. In his spare time, Dr. Raterman and his family take advantage of the Florida sunshine and spend time together by boating, water skiing, and cycling.
