Founded in 1975, Lutheran Services Florida is a nonprofit human services agency. It offers more than 60 developmental, educational and health care plans for the residents of Florida. The agency provides various specialized programs related to housing, employment, guardianship, refugees and immigration, child care and development, and youth shelters and family crisis. In addition, Lutheran Services Florida operates a disaster response program for the victims of tornadoes, hurricanes, floods and other natural disasters. The agency is also involved in church and community services, including support to local clergy and recruiting and training volunteers. It is located in Tampa, Fla.
