I recently moved from New York and have been searching for a GREAT hair stylist. First I took my boys to get their hair cuts and Sophie did a great job cutting their hair. I then decided to get my hair done. I did highlights and also had my hair cut. I am very picky with hair stylists, but I can honestly say Sophie did a fantastic job! The color was just right and the cut was excellent. I would recommend Hair Matrix to others that are looking for a great place to go. Remember to ask for Sophie!

I went in to this salon to get a haircut, mostly to trim some dean ends. I made sure to tell the hairdresser (who happens to be the owner of the salon) that I didn't want her to take more than half inch off the length of my hair. I should probably mention that my hair was only shoulder length and had some very soft long layers to it. When she got to the layers, I saw inches falling off...2 inches at least. When she was done, I looked like I had crazy over-layered 80's hair. Needless to say that, for short hair, there is nothing you can do but cut it even shorter to even it out. I just wanted to cry! I am so upset! When she asked me how I felt about the haircut, I told her the layers were waaay to deep and that is not really what I had in mind. The lady looked at me and scoffed and said "wow". Exactly my thought! So, in addition to doing a crappy job, she apparently felt offended ...Do not go there!!!!

Very pricey for what I received, they were charging me for each section of hair to be flat ironed and highlighted. I went to another salon because literally in 30 days my hair just looked horrible and they said that they had no line to follow to figure out how to cut it. They could only suggest letting my hair grow for six months and they coming back to them. I paid $150 dollars at times and my hair is barely shoulder length. I would not go back.

I live in Miami and I travel to Tampa every 6 weeks just to go to Hair Matrix and get my highlights, cut, and style done.

Worst haircut/partial hightlights of my life. The owner did my hair because my hairstylist left. Not a good idea. It should have given me a clue when I am sitting there, she's doing my hair and the only thing she kept talking about is how her male employee(doing someone else's hair)cut her hair the day before and she was almost in tears and how much she hated it. My highlights were blondish/harsh, about 1/2 inch away from scalp and I had about three different colors going. NEVER AGAIN. They advertise for a free haircut for a reason. Buyers beware! When I went back the next day, her excuse "accidents happen. I cannot help it when the wraps slide!" I have been getting highlights for at least 10yrs. NEVER, EVER have I had such a poor job done by anybody. I can probably say I would have gotten a better job from a student. If you like your hair and you don't want to waste $87, go somewhere else!!!!!

I went in expecting to get a decent hair cut (my hair was below my shoulder) and I wanted it in a Bob style below the ears, color with highlights. I came out with dark hair, white streaks for highlights and a cut that was so bad that I had to go to another salon to have it fixed. After spending over $150 I was in tears. My hair was BUTCHERED in the back, holes and uneven. The color was horrible. I tried to explain that it was NOT what I wanted but they didn't listen or sympathize at all. I had to spend another $50 to have the hair basically cut like a boys to even it out. I am still in tears and so depressed that I couldn't even go to work. I work for a major airlines in Tampa and deal with 100's of customers a day but there was NO way I could go looking like I did. Now I am looking at wigs to cover up what Hair Matrix did to me. They couldn't care less.....they didn't even offer to fix it or refund my money. They DO NOT know how to cut and color hair and I am so surprized that they even have a business license, they are less than professional !!!!!!!!!! I will tell everyone I know to AVOID this salon !!! They had a terrible attitude and extremely poor attitude. They do NOT care about their customers at all. AVOID GOING TO HAIR MATRIX !!! Don't end up looking like I did, it will ruin your whole day not to mention MONTHS until the hair grows back. I have NEVER been to such an awful salon in my life !!!! THEY RUINED MY HAIR AND DIDN'T CARE !!!!! AVOID THIS ESTABLISHMENT !!! THEY SHOULD LOSE THEIR LICENSE!
