      Dr. Schmittner is a Board Certified cardiologist who specializes in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation, with 20 years of clinical experience. He is the Medical Director of the Florida Hospital Pepin Heart Institute's Advanced Heart Failure and Mechanical Circulatory Support Program. He has a special interest in pulmonary hypertension and primary cardiomyopathies such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, cardiac amyloid, and cardiac sarcoidosis. He believes in partnering with patients to approach Advanced Heart Failure in a comprehensive manner that focuses on the patient'sindividual needs and beliefs.
