Established in 1982, Capital Health Plan is a nonprofit health maintenance organization that provides medical care through a network of physicians and service providers. Its more than 300 area physicians offer preventive care, diagnostic and lab tests, hospital and surgical care, inpatient and outpatient treatment and emergency care. The organization serves more than 110,000 people throughout Leon, Gadsden, Wakulla and Jefferson counties in Florida s Panhandle. Capital Health Plan has headquarters in Tallahassee, Fla. It is an affiliate of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida and an independent licensee of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association. The National Committee for Quality Assurance has ranked its Medicare Plan among the top 10 in the United States.
