Founded in 1917, Sligo Adventist School is a private, coeducational institution that enrolls students in kindergarten through grade eight. It provides a range of academic, religious and recreational programs for students, as well as conducts classes in fine arts, mathematics, science and social studies. Sligo Adventist School also offers instruction in reading, language arts, band, hand bells, strings and choir. Additionally, its curricula include lessons in various subjects, such as computer technology, music theory, Spanish and physical education. The school features a library, art room, music area, computer laboratory and classrooms. Additionally, its library has more than 10,000 book volumes, as well as print and electronic resources. Located in Takoma Park, Md., Sligo Adventist School is operated by the Sligo Seventh-day Adventist Church, which offers worship, prayer and Bible study services.
