Taft Primary Elementary School provides educational programs to students in kindergarten through grade three. Founded in 1959, the school has a staff of more than 10 teachers that serves over 180 students. Its academic curriculum includes English, language arts, history, foreign languages, health study, art, physical education, reading, writing, social studies and math. Taft Primary School offers the English Language Learners program. It encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities, including student council and the Santa s Secret Shop. The school provides food, transportation and guidance counseling services. It operates a parent-teacher association that conducts several fundraising activities and special programs. Located in Taft, Calif., Taft Primary School is a part of the Taft City School District, which governs several educational institutions.
