The mission of the Pierce County Information Technology Services Department is to improve county business continuity by implementing proactive power management for 50 percent of IT managed equipment and by providing a geographically separated sister data center by Nov. 30, 2007. Its mission also involves the improvement of the efficiency of county business operations by deploying the additional online processing capabilities via the Pierce County Internet site for county business functions and increasing the number of site visits by 15 percent. The department s Pierce County Geographic Information Services division designs, develops and maintains countywide geographic information systems, geographic datasets and business applications. The Pierce County Information Technology Services Department is located in Tacoma, Wash.
