      Dr. Patel is a nationally recognized, fellowship trained cornea, cataract, and vision correction specialist who has been practicing in Washington State since 2001. He has been performing complex eye surgical procedures for more than 15 years and has personally performed thousands of surgeries. He has been chosen for inclusion in "America's Top Ophthalmologists", as well as both Seattle Magazine's and Seattle Metropolitan's "Top Doctors" publications for eight years in a row, an honor bestowed upon him by his peers. A Phi Beta Kappa high honors graduate from the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science and the Arts, Dr. Patel went on to receive his medical degree with Alpha Omega Alpha Honors from the University of Michigan Medical School. He then completed an ophthalmology residency at the world renowned Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, followed by a prestigious Fellowship in Corneal and Vision Correction surgery at the University of Utah’s John Moran Eye Center. Dr. Patel has dedicated his practice to vision correction surgery, cataract surgery, and corneal diseases and surgery in addition to his work in general ophthalmology. Involved with vision correction surgery since 1996, Dr. Patel has extensive experience with Laser Vision Correction (LASIK), and he was the first surgeon in Western Washington to be certified for the Visian Implantable Contact Lens (ICL). He has lectured and taught residents and physicians from across the nation and has been involved in numerous research projects in the fields of cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery. Dr. Patel is board certified in ophthalmology and maintains professional membership in the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American College of Surgeons, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Washington Academy of Eye Physicians, and Washington State Medical Society.
