Nathaniel Meloon founded Meloon Foundries in 1938. As the company grew, it moved several times to accommodate its growth until the most recent move to its present location in 1951. From its beginnings as a small foundry the company has grown to its present size occupying some 60,000 square feet on a 6-acre site. The company is engaged in casting aluminum and copper base sand casting alloys. More than 40 different alloys are cast for commercial applications serving nearly 200 customers in the United States. It is nationally recognized as one of the leading jobbing foundries. The company s facilities include molding, core, melting metal preparation, finishing and quality control. Meloon Foundries maintains its corporate headquarters in Syracuse, N.Y.
