Sonic Studios researches and markets patented acoustic head-related transfer function stereo recording microphones. In 1976, the company got its start as an electronic systems/engineering consulting business with clients and in-house research and development projects. In-house research and development turned to acoustic sound recording in 1985. The company changed its name to Sonic Studios in 1986, the same year it began to work in microphone method patenting, manufacturing, marketing and mail order.
