American Showa was formed with the merger of Sunbury Component Industries and Blanchester Fcm. The company manufactures shock absorbers and steering systems. It is a subsidiary of SHOWA CORPORATION, which has in-house production capabilities for springs, as well as pressed and sintered components for automobiles. Established in 1938, the parent company employs more than 10,000 individuals. It designs and develops differential gears, propeller shafts and gas springs for cars and motorcycles.
