Based in North Charleston, S.C., the Northwood Academy is a Christian combined elementary and secondary coeducational school. It offers its services for students in prekindergarten through grade 12. The school has an enrollment of more than 700 students and was established in 1978. It is affiliated with the Association of Christian Schools International, the South Carolina Independent School Association, the South Carolina Occupation Information System, Trident Admissions Council and the International Fellowship of Christian School Administrators. The academy comprises lower and upper school campus facilities featuring various classrooms, a cafeteria, library and gymnasiums. The subjects offered include English, language, word skills, grammar, literature, mathematics, science, social studies, psychology, drafting, foreign language, journalism, computer science, Christian living and physical education. The Northwood Academy also provides a variety of sports activities that include baseball, basketball, softball, soccer, gymnastics, and track and field.
