Adapt is a non-profit agency providing mental health services in Branch and St. Joseph counties in Michigan. The agency was founded in 1975. It provides a range of services to developmentally disabled adults and individuals with mental illness. Adapt s primary funding sources are the Community Mental Health and the Michigan Rehabilitation Agency. These organizations, in most cases, must approve individuals prior to Adapt offering services. The agency serves private individuals and contracts with insurance companies for rehabilitation services. Adapt s employment resources program provides job development, screening, placement, job coaching and follow-along services. The agency offers residential services ranging from specialized group home to adult foster care to independent living. It operates nearly 20 specialized homes that provide 24-hour care. Adapt operates offices in Coldwater, Mich., and Sturgis, Mich.
