Maureen Noble (Memorial cultural event center)
PLEASE PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE. YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. I had the worst experience with Maureen and her venue.
I had a surprise 60th Birthday party for my mom at her venue. I paid my hardworking money for a venue that ended up having no running water or no proper working a/c which is a violation and against code.
I was completely embarrassed and my cake almost fell because how hot it was.
I told the staff and they turned the a/c down but it did nothing.
My guest complained then started to leave because they couldn’t take how hot it was or the condition of the bathroom because of no running water for them to flush or wash their hands.
The venue was well dressed and look nice but that was all. I would’ve preferred to have a great experience and proper working, functioning venue.
Maureen told me that the venue didn’t have any running water only 2 days before my event which she knew way before but promised that she would have it fixed because she hired a plumber to do so and it never got fixed.
Her staff even said that I should get some kind of refund for this disappointment and all
the issues that occurred while she’s across the world in Guyana. I discussed all the issues that occurred that night with Maureen as well as her security that I payed for to sleep on the job but she blatantly refuse to assume any responsibility for the condition of her venue and got irate with me on the phone.
Then she proceeded to tell me that I was a child to her and will not tolerate disrespect from me which I never did. I guess me voicing my dissatisfaction with her service was disrespectful to her but she had no problem
with taking this little girls money and giving me bad service in return.
I am 32 yrs old and never received this level of service and blatant disregard in my life.
I later heard about her bad reputation and regret ever doing business with her.
Please avoid this place it’s not worth the headache. The amount she charges for that mess of a venue is really not worth it at ALL. The only reason I took my business there is because of a family member and the fact she’s from Guyana and knew of My mom but lesson learned not all business deserves your patronage. This place is only
Good for dancehall Ragga ragga party not for no upscale nothing!
She’s ignorant and have no regard for her clients and her customer service is none existent when it comes to her handling dilemmas.
I only put this up now because I thought she would come to her senses when she messaged me about discussing a date for me to come to her office so she can settle this dispute only for it to result with her once again being disrespectful and arguing with me on the phone and hanging up. I have no clue how she continues to run a business this way. It makes no sense that a person well
in their 60’s behaves this way in her business.
