- RadiologyManshadi has made continuing education an important part of his practice philosophy. He completed advanced training to become licensed in nuclear medicine, a subspecialty of radiology. A nuclear stress test can detect inadequate blood flow to your heart muscle at rest and during stress.
- Nuclear MedicineDr. Manshadi may recommend a nuclear stress test to establish a baseline if you have a cardiac risk factor such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol or a family history of coronary artery disease. With a nuclear stress test, a radioactive “tracer” is injected into your bloodstream and a special scanner shows how well blood flows to the heart muscle. If a portion of the heart muscle isn’t receiving a normal amount of blood supply, a deficiency of tracer activity in that area will appear on the images. A nuclear stress test is usually done in conjunction with an exercise stress test but can also be performed using medications that simulate the effects of exercise on the heart. Dr. Manshadi is licensed and certified in nuclear medicine, and all nuclear stress tests are performed at a facility located just five blocks from his office.
- Computed Tomography
- GangreneConditions such as atherosclerosis, coronary artery disease and ischemia all pose serious threats to your health. That’s because they obstruct blood flow, which can cause heart attack, stroke, gangrene, renal failure and loss of limb or loss of life.
