What a horrible expeirence. First a thirty minute wait while he talked on the phone (I could hear his conversation) then I felt he got way too close. The staff was pleasant, but it took three attemps to get my glasses right. I am going elsewhere next year.

General Info
Dr. Whitted attended college at the University of California Santa Barbara and graduated in 1968 with a B.A. in zoology. The next three years were spent as an army officer in the Medical Service Corps. Working alongside medical and dental practitioners, Dr. Whitted realized his love for healthcare, and upon leaving the army attended U.C. Berkeley School of Optometry for four years, graduating in 1975 with a Doctor of Optometry degree. He opened his Stockton office on January 3, 1977 and has been at the same location ever since. Along the way, he has been the volunteer optometrist for the San Francisco 49ers while their spring training was in Stockton. He has also helped the UOP athletic department give physicals to the athletes, provided volunteer eyecare for the UOP football team and did eye exercises on all the members of the UOP women’s national champion volleyball team. Dr. Bill Whitted provides general eyecare, treats eye diseases and injuries, and is the only low vision subspecialist eye doctor between Sacramento and Modesto, providing low vision help so that people with subnormal vision can read and perform other tasks. The cost of routine eye exams can be of real concern, especially for large families. In many cases, vision insurance can lower these annual expenses. A vision insurance policy is not the same as health insurance. Medical health insurance plans protect you against financial losses due to unexpected eye injuries, conditions, or diseases. Vision insurance, on the other hand, is a wellness benefit designed to provide routine eye care, prescription eyewear and other vision-related services at a reduced cost. Because we provide both medical and routine eye care, we accept a number of insurance plans to help cover the cost depending on your individual needs. Here are just some of the plans that we accept: Plans We Accept VSP Medicare Tricare MESC Sutter Gould Hill Physicians
