      *New World* **Montessori** *Since 1979* New World Montessori was founded by a group of parents and teachers interested in providing quality education for young children. **Owner/Administrator:** Shirley Gary has been involved with New World Montessori since 1980. She assumed ownership of the school and its property in 1983. She also guides the Preschool and Kindergarten classes. Her background is rich in education and includes teaching in both the Modesto and the Manteca school districts. In addition to a BA from San Jose State University in Fine Art, Mrs. Garey completed post graduate studies in Early Childhood Education and Montessori certification. Mrs. Garey was awarded a Certificate in Montessori education from NCME(National Center for Montessori Education). New World Montessori promotes continued education for its guides (teachers) and aides. All staff have completed the early childhood education course work as outlined by the State of California Departme nt of Social Services Community Care. Its initial funding was provided by personal loans and donations. The ongoing operation capital comes from tuition and fundraising events. **Philosophy:** The education of the whole child is the primary goal on New World Montessori. Each dimension of the child?s personality is considered of equal value.
