Established in 1919, The American Legion is a patriotic veterans organization with political influence perpetuated by its grass-roots involvements in the legislation process. Based in Stockbridge, Mich., it is one of the nation's largest veterans service organization, advocating patriotism/honor, promoting national security and continued devotion to its fellow service members and veterans. The organization offers a range of services, such as veterans care center, troop support, national security, national emergency funds and family support networks, to name a few. The American Legion offers services to more than 2.4 million members in 14,000 posts worldwide.
