Microbiotest is the first contract laboratory to receive certification through The Council for Antimicrobial Quality in its laboratory accreditation program. The laboratory is dedicated to virology, cell culture, applied microbiology, clinical microbiology, biofilms, mycobacteriology, aerobiology, mycology and parasitology. Microbiotest is continually performing studies for the EPA and FDA on personal care products, such as cosmetics and eyecare, disinfectants, liquid chemical sterilants, antimicrobial additives and antiseptic soaps. Additionally, when there is no industry-accepted protocol for testing an antimicrobial product, the laboratory devises its own procedure and takes it to the appropriate regulatory agency for acceptance and endorsement. Microbiotest focuses on health care and hospital products, medical devices, industrial biocides and household and consumer product. The laboratory is located in Sterling, Va.
