The Bulloch County Sheriff's Office maintains peace and order and protects lives and property of the residents of Bulloch County, Ga. It serves various writs, processes, orders, subpoenas and other civil papers for local courts and other county and state departments. Located in Statesboro, Ga., the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office also handles issues related to sexual offenses, terror alerts, fingerprinting and domestic violence. The office supports the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), which is an international education program that seeks to prevent the use of illegal drugs, membership in gangs and violent behavior. The Bulloch County Sheriff's Office operates a jail that provides detention facilities to pretrial, presentenced, and county- and state-sentenced prisoners.
