Bit of Brooklyn brought to Staten Island. Home of New York's favorite chocolate mousse cake and gourmet foods. Serving lunch and dinner daily but closed on Mondays. Private parties are welcome and gift certificates are available. When the Italian eatery and dessert shop Aunt Butchie's of Brooklyn arrived in Richmond Valley two and a half years ago, relatives of the owners thought they were taking a big risk. Now nearly three years and two expansions later, the South Shore lunch, dinner and dessert hot spot is doing well, say its owners. They recently took over a spacious storefront and added 125 seats to what is now the restaurant's party room. Aunt Butchie's of Brooklyn was born in Bay Ridge. Other locations are in the Manhattan side of the Staten Island Ferry terminal and Kennedy Airport's Jet Blue terminal. Unlike those sites, the Staten Island location operates as a full restaurant and bakery, with options for customers to pick-up and order delivery. Lunch – salads, sandwiches (27 on the menu) – are also available at the Staten Island eatery. The full bakery offers a host of treats, including chocolate mousse cake, Italian pastries, cookies, coffee, and more. Dinner choices on the menu feature chicken, veal, seafood, pork and vegetarian entrees, as well as pasta, soups, and appetizers. Everything we make is homemade and that's the difference in the taste.It takes time but according to our customers it is worth it.
