The name for the restaurant is also a Wood Family tradition where “a little dooey” means a fun gathering of friends and family. The Wood’s began The Little Dooey™ in 1985, by serving their homemade barbeque and sauce at a local service station. The response from customers was overwhelming, and soon the growing local demand for their delicious food prompted them to open the first restaurant in Starkville which became an instant success. Their bar b que sause is great, The meat however isn't really all that good. Most everything else on the menu is pretty good. The building is a jumble of cobbled together old houses, the tables are not very ergonomic. If you are gonna eat their food get it for carry-out and get the chicken on a stick with honeymustard. Buy some of their sauce and put it on some meat you buy somewhere else unless you like burnt fat.
