Our experience with Al Savelle was TERRIBLE! I contacted him on a Saturday in January 2013, and he expected me to dig and prepare for him to repair a leaking yard hydrant. I’m not a plumber and I didn’t know how deep to dig or how large a hole to dig. He came Sunday afternoon, but left the job early on Sunday, leaving us without water. He did not return the following morning as he had promised, and did not respond to text messages or phone calls until very late in the morning. He neglected our job for another job, and blamed the rain for being the reason he could not finish the job (he said glue, needed to set the cap on our pipe, would not bond in the rain). He finally came back out in the afternoon after I contacted him repeatedly, and despite the light rain, he arrived to cap the pipe (which he previously said would not work). While on site, my wife and I attempted to ask him why he lied, saying he would arrive first thing in the morning. He ignored my wife, and then claimed I tried to start a fight with him. I did not yell, I did not cuss, I did not advance on him, and I’ve never been in a fight in my life, so the accusation was absurd. He quit the job and left us in a lurch without water! I had to contact a reputable plumbing company to come at the last minute on Monday and complete the job.

We attempted to pay Al $180 (two hours of labor @$85/hour, plus materials, and we waived the $100 trip charge to hire the new plumber). He returned the check saying I owed him an apology for trying to start a fight. He also claimed on the phone we owed him for over five hours of labor, when he was only on site for two. So I filed a complaint with the BBB and in that complaint, I offered to pay $90 (this time charging him for the trip charge of the new plumber, and increasing the cost of materials to be fair). The complaint was unresolved. His customer service is horrible, and nothing like he claims it to be. I would NEVER recommend him to anyone!
