Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut is a professional outpatient mental health facility that serves various children and adolescents who have psychological, behavioral, developmental and family problems. Founded in 1954, the center is staffed with psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers and family therapists. Its treatment includes psychological evaluations, neuropsychological testing, psychiatric assessments and family therapies. The center also offers specialized mental health services for children suffering from HIV and AIDS. Additionally, Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut provides professional consultation to preschools, courts, residential facilities and youth agencies. The center, with a location in Stamford, Conn., also operates facilities in Greenwich, Darien and New Canaan in Connecticut. It organizes workshops and seminars on child development issues.
