- Dynamic Warm-up/Cool-downDynamic warm-up consists of activities to increase heart rate, blood flow, muscle temperature, and breathing rate. Warming up allows muscles to stretch more easily and joints to move more easily, thereby preventing pulling muscles, most commonly hamstring and quadriceps. Our warm-up also focuses on agility, speed development and flexibility. Cooling down ensures athletes relax their muscles and reduce next-day soreness.
- Speed TrainingPlayers run on Athletic Republic Generation II Super Treadmills. These treadmills can reach speeds of 28 miles an hour and an incline grade of 40 degrees. Players are taught proper running mechanics at high speeds. Stride efficiency and power make a faster, quicker runner. Players also learn visually by seeing themselves in a mirror and by using Dartfish video motion analysis something they cannot get on the field.
- Strength TrainingFootball players need functional strength to throw farther, defend better and catch more easily. A sound weight-training program promotes stability and reduces the risk of injury. Players utilize resistance bands, free-weights, medicine balls, and physio balls to strengthen muscles, joints and connective tissues. The exercises are biomechanically specific to on-field skills including muscle movements used in blocking, running and defending pass routes.
- Cardiovascular/Endurance TrainingCardiovascular and endurance training at BlueStreak includes short interval/high intensity sprinting sequences on our Generation II Super Treadmills. By using the same energy systems and tactical movements utilized in football games, athletes become fitter and faster.
- Plyometric TrainingPlyometric training is an effective form of power training ideally suited to football. Players perform specific plyometric drills for increased motor performance (coordination), explosive power, vertical jump height, lateral power and rotation, and landing strength. Plyometric training combines elements of both speed and strength in single movement patterns that include the Athletic Republic PlyoPress, cord technology, longitudinal and vertical jumps, box jumps, and medicine ball drills for upper body and middle body torso power.
- FlexibilityFootball-specific flexibility exercises include static stretching, isometric stretching, and active isolated stretching (AIS). Improved flexibility helps to prevent injuries by assuring the muscles and tendons work together properly. It also makes the muscles more elastic for increased lower body explosiveness.
- Dynamic BalanceFootball is a game where player's center of gravity and body control are incredibly important. Athletes perform a series of balance-specific exercises to strengthen their stabilizing muscles and allow for better muscular synergy and joint control. Training routines include unstable and stable lifts, dynamic balance movements with the Bosu ball and a variety of off-balance training aids.
- AgilityAgility is the ability to change speed and direction while maintaining effective control of the body. In order to improve agility, athletes learn a variety of agility drills, including advanced ground-based agility patterns and use of a speed ladder. Ground-based agility patterns are conducted on our indoor Field Turf, track, sand pit and wood courts.
- Hockey is a game of speed, strength, and skill. To compete effectively in such a physically demanding sport, hockey players need to be in peak shape prior to and during hockey season. Athletes may supplement their training with personal training sessions, maintain skating strides in-season with the Game-Time Program, and receive on-ice skill training from expert hockey staff through spring Edge Clinics.
- Hockey Acceleration (20 sessions)Our science-based training improves the rate at which you can do mechanical work, retraining your body from the inside out-neurologically, metabolically and biomechanically. This allows you to become more efficient while performing hockey specific movements. In our optimal training environment-a potent combination of our proprietary equipment coupled with properly placed mirrors, video feedback and our qualified trainers-you will quickly find that you can progress beyond all your preconceived notions about your abilities and limitations. Over the course of 6 to 8 weeks, athletes schedule 20 training sessions. Athletes focus on proper skating mechanics and speed development on our Athletic Republic Hockey Treadmill. Two times per week athletes complete a functional strength training program to increase their power on the ice. This program includes pre/post performance evaluations. - Hockey Specialty ProgramsThe variety of programs offered for hockey athletes range from Mite (ages 7-8) to Professional Hockey players. The most elite hockey athletes train in our five day a week, summer invitation only program, APEX. The newly added intense summer program designed for (ages 13-17) based out of Chelsea Piers Connecticut is Power Hockey. Our all-year round training program, Acceleration, is designed for Mite to Junior athletes. We even challenge teams in their preseason to endure Team Training for optimal season results.

- Football Acceleration (20 sessions)BlueStreak's Football Acceleration program is our most comprehensive program to improve overall speed, strength and explosion. This program contains 20 training sessions which are each 2 hours long or 90 minutes (depending on location). Within sessions, athletes go through an extensive dynamic warm up designed by the Cincinnati Children's Hospital which targets specific movements to help reduce the chances of a lower extremity injury. After the warm up we focus on speed development, strength and power output through patented Athletic Republic Speed Treadmill Protocols and BlueStreak's customizable lifts. This is where you will learn and perfect the movements needed to explode through opponents and to man handle your competition. Before you start the training, we require you to go through an extensive, NFL style evaluation where our expert trainers will exploit your strengths and weaknesses and also help us design the proper lifting program that is appropriate for your ability and goals. After completing the evaluation and going through the 40 hours of training, we bring your through that combine style testing so you can physically see the improvements on your 40 yard dash, pro agility and vertical jump.

- Figure Skating is a year-round sport with constant changing on-ice demands throughout the year. Through challenging choreography, perfecting jump techniques or lifts, and consistent program run-throughs to prepare a skater for competition, there is really no dedicated "off-season" like other sports, such as, football, hockey or lacrosse.
- At BlueStreak we understand the fundamentals each figure skater needs to compete at their full potential.By joining our Figure Skating Acceleration Program a skater will improve upon strength, power, aerobic and anaerobic conditioning, balance, and flexibility. - This Junior Acceleration program takes the fundamentals of BlueStreak's Acceleration programs and condenses them into a format suited to children 7-10 years old. With the creation of the Junior Acceleration program, adolescents can now train at BlueStreak in programs specifically addressing the needs of younger athletes. The Junior Acceleration program safely provides an introduction to the BlueStreak methodology, which is ideal for young athletes eager for experiences beyond youth leagues. Three essential components are incorporated into each sessiondynamic warm-up, speed/agility/strength training and sports training.

The speed/agility component focuses on multi-directional drills utilizing speed ladders, plyometrics squares and agility hurdles.. The final component of each session includes fundamental skills development, utilizing innovative drills and games to improve sport-specific skill elements.

- General Fitness AccelerationTrain like an athlete in our General Fitness Acceleration program. We take training to another level with new and innovative training you won't find in a traditional health club. Our total body development program will allow you to live a healthier lifestyle, increase your confidence, and make you less prone to injuries. After a comprehensive performance evaluation, a trainer will work with you to customize a program to complement your everyday lifestyle and get you in shape like an athlete. We will help you sculpt a strong, flexible, lean body by incorporating interval cardio with a functional strength program consisting of circuit training, dynamic core strength, and resistance band training.
- General Fitness FlexThis program is designed for the individual whose schedule does not allow him to attend BlueStreak 2 to 3 days each week. The training is the same and the availability is the same as the Acceleration group, but this program only offers 8 sessions with no evaluation.
