Provided by YPmobileI wouldn't let my worst enemy stay here. This is by far the biggest dump I have ever stayed at.

Provided by YPmobileI read the other reviews and apparently this place has improved greatly. My room was fine, no mold smells mice, the maid was extremely helpful and nice and did an excellent job. I have stayed in much more expensive places and had things stolen. All in all, I got what I paid for. Thanks

Provided by YP.comMy husband and I stayed here on October 8, 2011. This is by far the WORST place I have EVER stayed. The carpeting was so stained and filthy you couldn't walk on it without socks or shoes. The bed was as hard as a rock, and you could feel every spring in it..the bed was ancient! The night stands had the front side of them gone, and nails hanging out. The blinds were broken. They had patches on the ceiling. The drawers had other peoples belongings in them. There were MOUSE TRAPS set all over, very disturbing! There was food and crap all over under the furniture. The hot plate was soooo rusty and old. They advertised for refrigerator and stove, and microwave..nothing worked! There was no phone, and no internet, as advertised. The bathroom had mildew all over the cracked walls and the floor was filthy. We couldn't take a shower because it was only a little drizzle. They had space heaters sitting all over. The towels had holes through them and were dirty, and the sink was held up by one leg. I was scared to stay there. The office was dark and dungy. They had continental breakfast in this dark dungy room, but I was scared to eat anything there. The guy running it had nasty clothes and hair sticking up all over. I most definitely would NOT recommend this to ANYONE! They need to condemn it. They charged $66, and wouldn't refund a penney of it. Had I not had non refundable reservations and it been super late at night, I would have stayed elsewhere.

Provided by YP.comUnless you plan to go to the hospital with sudden breathing problems, don't stay here. The rooms smell of mildew, and may possibly have deadly mold spores. The place should be condemned and destroyed--it is filthy.

Beware! As locals who found out where we were staying commented, after their gasps......can't believe what you see on the internet!Altho the bathroom was clean, from there it went dowhill. VERY old & run down, including the linens. The bed had been slept in & was nasty, w/a bedspread that had to be 40 yrs. old, & full of cigarette burns & slimy feeling. Lamps were actually rusted & tarnished. Everything about the room felt sickening. Had to wear socks to not feel like I would catch something from the carpet. Would have left but we paid cash for 2 nites. Consider that anything else for breakfast would be better than chancing theirs! Dark, musty, nasty, & w/evidently workers living in rooms right next door, who hung out all nite in front their rooms. Thank goodness they headed out to wherever about 9 or 10 pm, so it could finally be quiet & smoke wouldn't drift into our room. Felt VERY UNSAFE! Not up to 1 star but had to put something!
great hospitality & very clean, not a luxury property, but very satisfactory, quiet and safe neighborhood.I have traveled to Spruce Pine for many years on business, it is a good central location for me.&I always feel at home at the Lemon Tree.
