Springfield Middle School serves students in grades five through eight. Its academic curriculum includes several subjects, such as English, science, mathematics, social studies, reading and writing. The school organizes champ, voyager, enrichment and transitions camps. Springfield Middle School offers extracurricular sports activities, including swimming, basketball, track and field, tennis, football and volleyball. The school provides an accelerated reader program that is used to monitor reading practices and helps students in improving their reading skills. It additionally offers a range of programs in art, band, choir, drama and orchestra. The school has a parent-teacher organization that sponsors various activities and events. It has a staff consisting of a counselor, custodian, social worker and paraprofessionals. Springfield Middle School is a part of Battle Creek Public Schools and is located in Springfield, Mich.
