Provided by YP.comWORST. COMPANY. EVER. I purchased a refrigerator from Metal Men on 4/29/13. They delivered the fridge and picked up my old fridge. Within the 60 day warranty period, I notified them that the fridge was leaking water from the top portion of the refrigerated section. Metal Men made an appointment to have their repair man take a look at it within a few days. They never showed. After 4-5 more scheduled appointments at which the never showed, they finally had someone come out to say that the fridge was not able to be repaired, but that they would replace it. After at least a month or so, they finally delivered a replacement refrigerator. After plugging in the replacement, we stored our food in it. The fridge continued to get colder and colder each day until it began to freeze the food in the refrigerated portion. We attempted to adjust the temperature downward to no avail. We eventually turned the temperature to off, let everything thaw and tried again. After a few days the fridge froze again. We immediately contacted Metal Men to inform them that the replacement fridge was broken. They then told us that we would have to pay $50 for someone to come out and fix it plus the cost of the part. They refused to honor the warranty. We informed them that they agreed the original fridge was covered under the warranty and that they did not fix the original fridge per the warranty, but replaced it with a broken one. They still refuse to fix or replace this fridge. I just spoke to the receptionist - despite my repeated phone calls, the owner never called me back.

Provided by YP.comWe bought a GE Cafe Gas stove that was vastly less expensive than the list price. But not only are we having a lot of troubles with the stove/oven, we can not get any help from Metal Men Appliances. They ignored our calls, can't find paperwork, and have been in general evasive. We're totally bummed out about the experience, and it looks like we'll have to take a soaking on repairs upwards of $800+. There is no model or serial number on the stove, which we've been told means that it likely was sold out of the back door of the factory and is an illegal item.

Provided by YP.comDon't go there ! We bought a washer and dryer from them and neither worked. It took over a dozen phone calls, two visits to their business and six weeks to finally get the washer fixed. Now, it's been three more weeks, we've called ten more times and still the dryer doesn't work.

I am a landlord and in the past year i have purchased 10 appliances from this guy and recommended friends to him. I never quibbled much about pricing and always got decent used appliances. Just about a week ago I purchased $450 worth of appliances from him.
A refrigerator in a rental unit has been giving the tenant problems since I installed it. It was in service about two months when they finally informed me of the issue. I called and was told the unit was under warranty, but I should check and adjust the controls...which I did. Problem not fixed. I scheduled TWO appointments for repair and they did not show for either one...no call. I called again. They did not return my call. When I did reach them I could hear a huge argument going on in the store involving much yelling and flared tempers. The third time they scheduled repairs they did show and he wanted $50 plus parts to do the repair and when I questioned the charge he was immediately and extremely rude, accused me of wanting him to work for nothing and told me not to come back to the store. They left the fridge with a broken fan and adjusted the controls, replaced nothing and said nothing further.
If you like being treated like this by all means do business with them, otherwise save yourself the frustration and money. GO ELSEWHERE

And NO i do not own this business!! But for any business to have a complaint here and there is NORMAL not everyone will always be happy 100%all of the time. And most likely its just that person being seriously one sided, as i saw from that whole I-team investigation! What a joke! I'm sorry but there is ALWAYS 2 sides to every story. And 22news should start investigating REAL news rather than an angry woman!! Please give Metal Men App. a try! They are a growing business and DO put their customers first!! Trust me there appliances are a lot cheaper than big store names, not to mention safer than on to some sleezy C.L site,and meeting some stranger and putting yourself at risk to save a dollar, and on CL you have no clue what junk you are buying and if it breaks OH WELL!! At least with Metal Men App. its a safe, reliable and you know what your getting, and if something happens your not s.o.l you have the warranty. So think before you descriminate! I normally don't put responses out there but had to, I would'nt want someone missing out on going here like I almost did myself.Sometimes its hard not to listen to bad complaints! But I went anyways and wow I was shocked, and suprised and how this store is NOT 1 star BUT at least 4-5 star quality! It has saved me time, money, stress, being a busy mother. Not to mention a great experience with lasting quality! Before I know it I will have all my household app. from Metal Men Appliances!! Thanks for listening!

It's now about a year later and a part on my washer need to be fixed and it was done in a very timely manner. It will b done the same day if the tech is avalible. If not he will come and look at it that day. Looking forward to doing business with u in future

This person is mistaken me with another scrap removal company it is not us.

Provided by YP.comUG! This company frustrated me to no end. The owner is refusing to honor his much-touted warranty and service contract, and I've had a non-working washer and dryer sitting in my apartment for a week. Check their Better Business Bureau reviews - I should have before I bought from them. They've had 2 BBB complaints against them in the past 36 months. I'm filing a complaint on Monday, so make that three. Do NOT shop here.
EDIT To respond to Mitch:
Mitch- I think you've got me confused with a different customer...I've had the washer/dryer for a week and its never even been plugged in, so I've obviously never said it "works great." You (nor your son) have even been here, as you insist I'm too far away and won't come unless I pay for travel costs. I bought the unit on 2/5 so I'm still inside the warranty. Again, I think you've got me confused with someone else.

Spoke to Mitch, who agreed he had me confused with another customer. However, this guy is actually downright scary and raised his voice at me. When I explained that I'm a single mother who can't afford to hire an electrician to do the work needed on my unit, and that I've been doing my daughter's laundry in the bathtub due to this issue, his reply was a cold "I get sob stories all the time." He's said that he "won't back down" and will take the negative report on his BBB record. At this point, I think I'd actually be afraid to have him in my home. I think the appropriate word would be "bully."
This young lady bought a washer and dryer there has never been a complaint from her about the washer she has told us it works great.She did however complain that her dryer was not working my son went to her house three times and we did everything we could to make her happy she called again and said it was still not working we made another appointment with her and this time i was gonna go personally with my son to see what was the issue we explained that we would be there around 2:30pm but unsure exactly because we where on another job and it could take a little longer we called her at 3pm to say we would be there in about 10 minutes she yelled and screamed at my son and told him she was leaving and hung up on him. Her dryer works fine and she uses it everyday she sais it makes a little noise on start up but then goes away. We have done everything she has asked durring warranty period shes mad because she wants us to go out again for free even though the warranty is over and I said No, This young lady is in the service and we even gave her a big discount for being in the service. I dont think anything could make her happy except keeping the washer and dryer and getting her money back. By the way she said we had two complaints in 36months filed with the better business bureu if you know anything about business thats very good i also want you to know that both those complaints where resolved with both the customers very satisfied. I always honor my warranty and this young lady was never refused until warranty was over

Provided by YP.comUpdate: They did finally show up (on the third scheduled repair appointment), and when they did they were courteous and solved the problem effectively. So, these guys are true to their word, and are probably just ironing out the kinks in a new business. Still, beware that scheduling is problem for this business. Read below for full story.
At first I thought these guys were great. They gave us what seemed like (and probably was) a very fair price on a nice washer/dryer set, and were willing to work with us on the timing and logistics of the delivery.
However, when it comes to executing on their promises, they leave much to be desired. We scheduled a delivery between 11:00am and noon - they showed up around 4:00pm. Because of the late delivery, I wasn't there (my partner was), so it wasn't until well after the delivery guy was gone that I got a chance to look over the machines and note that one of the adjustable front feet for the washer was so rusted that it could not be adjusted to level the machine.
Thinking I was lucky I had a warranty, I called Metal Men, who agreed to send someone out on Friday afternoon (the washer was delivered on a Wednesday). The repair man never showed up, and when we finally called to find out where he was, we were promised a call back that never came. Eventually, we gave up.
We called again on Monday morning, and scheduled a repair man to come between 10:30 and 11:00am on Tuesday. As I sit here it's after 4:00pm on Tuesday, there's no repair man, and once again the promised call back from the office to let me know where his is has not come.
I don't know that they won't eventually solve my problem - in fact, I suspect that they will. However, if you value your time, and have anything better to do that to wait for someone who likely won't show up anywhere close to when they've promised, you might want to think twice about doing business with Metal Men.
