When Providence bought out the original owner of this assisted living facility, we were concerned about what may happen with the care at this facility. But we certainly had no idea how bad things could go. I am ashamed that I haven’t done something public sooner. My mother-in-Law has lived at this location for about 5 years. There have been three instances where she wasn’t attended to properly and because of their negligence, bad things have happened that have caused her much suffering. She was dropped once when being moved from her wheelchair to another chair and broke her tailbone, and another time (just a month ago) left unattended when taken to the bathroom and fell over and broke her neck. But the last thing was by far the worst that has caused her unnecessary suffering that has also cause mental anguish for her loved ones who are right now literally watching her die. She had paperwork in order - a DNR - Do Not Resuscitate order - her living will, etc. all the required paperwork on file with Providence. But on July 13,2018, she began choking at lunch and the facility called 911. They DID NOT send any of the paperwork with her to the hospital and even though she had no pulse for over 12 minutes, the ER doctors resuscitated her. They worked so hard to bring back this 82 year old woman that some of her ribs were broken. And these things were done against her wishes - all because of someone’s negligence at Providence Assisted Living in Springdale, AR. Her family members are still watching this poor woman slowly die a long painful death as she has not had any brain activity since the event and they had to make the painful choice to have her removed from life support.
