La Presa Elementary School is a part of the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District, which operates over 15 elementary and middle schools. The school provides general academic programs to more than 450 students in kindergarten through grade five. It conducts classes in language arts, math, science and social studies. It provides special education classes for gifted and talented students. La Presa Elementary School offers Title 1 and accelerates reader programs. The school also organizes field trips to several educational and cultural destinations in the community. It operates a parent-teacher association that conducts several fundraising activities and special events, including family nights, book fairs and holiday parties. In addition, it provides food, transportation, medical care and guidance counseling. The school features a library that organizes reading programs and storytelling sessions.
