      Governed by the City of Spokane in Washington, the Wastewater Management Department provides customer services related to wastewater collection and treatment. The department employs more than 150 full- and part-time staff members. With an annual operating budget of over $29.7 million, it offers stormwater management and sewer overflow reduction services to protect local water resources. The Wastewater Management Department provides routine maintenance and treatment programs. The department clean sewer pipes and storm basins, as well as inspects nearly 1,200 miles of pipelines. It is involved with several regional programs that aim at protecting water resources for future growth. The Wastewater Management Department constructs and evaluates sewer and storm drain facilities.
