Hamblen Elementary School serves students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Its academic curriculum includes language arts, math, science, social studies, and health and safety. The school coordinates before- and after-school programs and has a parent-teacher group and library. Hamblen Elementary School administers speech therapy, music, guidance counseling and special education programs. It also conducts programs for behaviorally impaired students. Hamblen Elementary School is a part of Spokane Public Schools, which is one of the largest school districts in Washington that governs several elementary, middle and high schools and serves 32,000 students. Spokane Public Schools maintains student support services, human resources, payroll, transportation, purchasing and warehouse, and budget and accounting departments.
