      A place where Everyone can invite Anyone to encounter The Living One. A Heritage of Gods Grace from 1839 to today! First Baptist has a wonderful heritage dating back to its founding in February of 1839 when twenty-five people organized First Baptist Church with John G. Landrum as their first pastor. We celebrate this legacy and look forward to the future. Through generations of members and several gifted and blessed leaders, God has blessed this church body, and we praise Him for the Grace He has extended to us! Our mission in Spartanburg is and has always been to encourage complete and courageous living in Christ. Today, the over 7000 members men, women, boys and girls of FBS celebrate what God is doing, and look ahead with great anticipation as to what God will do through the people of First Baptist Spartanburg! IN CHRIST, MORE IS POSSIBLE THAN WE CAN EVER IMAGINE!
