The Alzheimer s Association is one of the leading voluntary health organizations in the United States. It is a nonprofit organization that is responsible for providing Alzheimer care, support and research services. The association works to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health and provides 24-hour nationwide emergency response services for individuals with Alzheimer s disease. The Alzheimer s Association operates the Alzheimer's Association Green-Field Library, which is the nation's largest library dedicated to Alzheimer's disease and offers a variety of free information services to the public. It also publishes a journal that presents the basic and clinical research advances related to early detection, prevention and treatment. The association also administers various events to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's disease care, support and research. The Alzheimer s Association maintains a location in Lansing, Mich.
