l lived in Salt Lake City 21 years ago, and being an African American woman from NYC the first thing I looked for was a beauty salon that could possibly style my hair. Let's face it, black hair is "totally different "from our caucasian brothers and sisters hair. For months I looked around Salt Lake City looking for a salon and had no luck. One day I went across the road from my home and there it was. I went in and asked one of the stylist if they knew how to do my hair? I'm thinking, she and the other stylist are caucasian. How could they possibly know how to do black hair"? She said, Miss, " We specialize in your hair". You could have knocked me over with a feather! She relaxed my hair, washed and conditioned it. She cut it in layers and curled it using a curling iron that the stylist used back home. The results were so beautiful that I actually cried!! I gave her a big tip and big hug too! If you're a black woman living in SLC this is the place to go!!
