Wildwind was one of my best choices! Ive been riding at wildwind for about 4-5 years. Its not just for children its for everyone! :) The whole family can have fun.The instructors are high experience and so are the owners. The horse are so much fun, nice, and friendly. There are cats in the winter to keep you warm and play with in the summer.Very nice dogs too (and they are all super friendly.) So i just want to say thank you so much for being such a great and friendly barn.

Hi my daughter and I have boarded, bought a horse, taken lessons , and shown at Wildwind for 8 years and we would not go any were else. The care and concern for teaching and loving the animals is great. My daughter has been very successful in the show program, which has the right amount of competion and respect for sports. And it's always fun.

Instructors are great with kids and adults. A friendly and safe place to learn to ride. Learn to groom and tack a horse as well as just ride. Opportunity to interact with the horse much more than many barns.
My 6 year old daughter has been riding at Wildwind for over two years. She loves it!!! It's safe and friendly barn, where everyone (not only kids, but parents and grandparents too) can find a horse to ride or a cat to pet.I would like to thank all Wildwind trainers and instructors. You are the best!
My 10 year old has loved 3 weeks of horse camp @ Wildwind and can't wait for another week of drill team camp. She loves it there and has FUN!In her weekly class there is a huge variety of horses she can ride. Not only is she learning proper riding techniques but she is also being taught proper behavior to be in an away horse show! The owners, both highly experienced horsewomen, are very concerned about safety issues. With over 50 horse there are rules to be followed. That is what makes Wildwind a SAFE place. That is ONE of the things I liked. I never have to worry about my child's safety.Wildwind is a soothing place where the ponies run and the children's laughter is heard in the barn. Stop by, you will be hooked, as we are!
An answer to the review above. I remember the conversation somewhat different. I was asked to schedule an autistic child in a camp, were i did not have a therapeutic instructor. I tried to explain 1.Therapeutic classes are taught only by a certified therapeutic riding instructor and we do not have one for camps. Therapeutic classes have volunteers working with students camp dose not. Students can be on a 1000lb animal and safety is tconcernconcern. Last we do not have insurance to cover therapeutic riding students in camp only in therapeutic classes, taught by the certified instructors, with volunteers present. We could lose our entire therapeutic riding program a service we have provided for more than 5000 students over the past 24 years by not following these rules. I am sorry we could not meet this mothers needs. Ffrankly she has never been here, never viewed our program, or instructors, and has no idea what we offer. Owner Cindy Richards
My daughter has been riding at Wildwind for over a year and we couldn't be happier. SAFETY IS #1. Co-owner Vikki G. is one of the best equestrian trainers/coaches in the state. Co-owner Cindy R. is an accomplished show rider/jumper. Both ladies care about their riders as friends and not just customers.Wildwind has something for everyone. Riders from age 4-60+. Horses from minis to drafts. Ponies, donkeys, dogs, cats and even bunnies. The therapeutic program is excellent. The diversity and acceptance at the barn are great. You may even hear Japanese or Spanish being spoken in the barn.Wildwind is a friendly place where everyone is safe and has fun. I highly recommend it!
I tried to sign my 2 children up to take summer riding lessons. I mentioned that my 11-year-old son has high functioning autism and the woman said that they would not allow him to participate in the camp! She said that they have therapeutic riding in the fall for ?handicap? kids. I explained that my son goes to regular ed school without an aide. He does regular curriculum in school and his only deficit is social. I offered to bring him in so she could meet him and see that he was a typical child and able to follow instruction. Still she said no, he couldn?t attend the camp. She then had the gall to tell me that just because I WAS IN DENIAL THAT MY SON WAS HANDICAPPED that does not mean that they have to put him in a class with normal kids!I would not send any child there ? ?handicapped? or ?normal?
