South Lyon Community Schools is a school district that operates through operations, food service, transportation and youth assistance departments. Founded in 1834 as a one-room log schoolhouse, the district consists of two high schools, two middle schools and seven elementary schools. In addition, South Lyon Community Schools operates the Center For Active Adults, which serves more than 2,500 adults and senior citizens.
