The El Dorado County Probation Department provides early intervention, assessment and investigation services. Located in South Lake Tahoe, Calif., the department also offers prevention, intervention and outreach assistance services. It administers the Community Alliance Reducing Truancy (CART) program, which provides intensive supervision and monitoring services of juveniles at their assigned schools. The El Dorado County Probation Department offers health care, educational and vocational rehabilitation services. In addition, the department provides treatment services related to alcohol and drug abuse. The El Dorado County Probation Department administers the Home Supervision Program, which utilizes electronic home monitoring equipment to restrict the movement of juveniles and adult felons.
