      I took my vehicle in to try and get an idea of what was wrong. Art and I went for a test drive and he told me it would first need a transmission service to replace two filters, fluid, etc. that would cost $240.00. He also described how there was a mechanism not allowing transmission fluid to reach the gears and better not drive it very far. He did not do, or even recommend any diagnostics. He said do the service first, then see what happens. Sounded fishy, so I took it to another mechanic, who did a diagnostic scan, found the problem and repaired it for less than $100.. Said I didn't need a service, but if I wanted one it would be $160.00. I know times are hard and Art seems like a nice guy, but REALLY? Times are hard for me too.

      Art's Transmission opened in April 1993. We started out in a 1 bay shop that was about 500 Sq. Ft., since then we have grown to the largest Transmission specialty shop in the Tahoe Basin and South Shore.
