General Info
With a doctor for a father, Dr. Andrea Loder grew up following him around the hospital and watching him work. She has always been fascinated by science and loves learning about medicine. Dr. Loder explains, “Pediatrics is the icing on the cake because children are so fun. They are honest, straightforward and resilient. I cannot image doing anything else.”In more recent years, Dr. Loder has had the opportunity to view healthcare “from the other side of the exam table” - as she’s navigated through a terminal illness and catastrophic injury within her own family. These experiences helped her be a better physician by reminding her how much each and every visit matters to the patient. She also learned, first hand, how important it is to remember that the patient truly is the center of everything in healthcare. “When we forget that, we fail.”Dr. Loder enjoys coming to work each day because of the kids she gets to work with. She knows that every single day, at least one of her patients is going to make her laugh and smile. She also loves that pediatrics is really preventative medicine in its purest form. In addition to preventative care, Dr. Loder enjoys treating a wide variety of childhood illnesses from acute illnesses all children face, as well as managing chronic illnesses such as asthma, eczema and allergies. She also enjoys working as part of a healthcare team for children who may need subspecialty care for more serious illnesses.I love being able to partner with parents to provide the best possible care for their children. Having the opportunity to help parents navigate the journey of raising happy, healthy children is truly a pleasure and a privilege. Building a relationship of trust with children and their parents allows me to guide families through the everyday parenting joys and challenges, as well as the unexpected serious illnesses that sometimes occur.
