Indian Valley Nursery SchoolIndian Valley Nursery School ( established in 1979 ) is a weekday early childhood education center serving families from Souderton and the surrounding communities. Class size ranges from 14-18 students, led by a Head Teacher ( holding a degree in early childhood education ) and a Teaching Assistant.The daily schedule includes a variety of well-planned activities focusing on the group needs of the children. Art, music, building, dramatic play, science, listening centers, computers and other academic readiness activities are part of a typical day. Emphasis is place on learning by doing, and children are continually involved in first-hand experiences. Our goal is to meet the growth and developmental needs of the total child, academically, physically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.We believe that the home, school and church should all partner together in providing Christian nurture and guidance to children. It is our desire to give quality care and positive early life experiences to the children we serve, sharing God's love with them in all aspects of the curriculum. We are also committed to assisting families in building strong homes where parents can apply effective parenting skills.Indian Valley KindergartenIndian Valley Kindergarten was established shortly after Indian Valley Nursery School in 1981. The class size is limited to 24 students, taught by a Head Teacher ( holding a degree in early childhood and/or elementary education ) and a Teaching Assistant.Our Kindergarten curriculum includes: the Lippincott Letter Books, utilizing a total language arts approach and has a strong phonetic base ; the MacMillan/McGraw-Hill Kindergarten Math Series ; the Betty Lukens Bible curriculum ; as well as various science and social studies materials. Art and physical activity ( informal and directed ) are a part of every day. Student have a special Gym class weekly. Music is used daily throughout the curriculum, but is taught once a week by a music specialist. Indian Valley Kindergarten strives to meet the growth and developmental needs of the whole child. It is our desire that our students have positive early learning experiences, laying the foundation for their future education.
