General Info
At any given time, almost six million Americans suffer from chronic wounds. Some wounds are associated with complications from diabetes and other related vascular disorders, while others are caused by pressure or trauma. These wounds can cause severe health risks and may result in life-threatening infections, possible amputation and debilitating health conditions. With the state-of-the-art treatment available at Sonora Regional Medical Center's Center for Wound Care, however, people with slow-healing wounds no longer have to suffer. The Center for Wound Care's comprehensive approach can heal wounds that have resisted other treatments, and can help you avoid loss of limbs, reduce the incidence of recurrence and return you to a healthier, more productive life. As a matter of fact, last year we helped 93% of our patients - many of whom had wounds for years - heal within 14 weeks. The Center for Wound Care is also the only wound-care center in Tuolumne, Calaveras and Stanislaus Counties to offer Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in an outpatient setting.

Amenities
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a simple but effective treatment in which you breathe pure oxygen inside a pressurized chamber. The therapy quickly delivers high concentrations of oxygen to your bloodstream, which helps improves circulation, stimulates the growth of new blood cells, fights certain types of infections, and generally speeds your own natural healing process. The number and frequency of treatments you receive will depend on your diagnosis and your treatment plan.
