Let me start this review by stating a few facts. I've been a long time customer of both the California Hair Company, as well as the former California Styles. I've been getting my hair cut here since I was 13 and I'm 32 now to give you an idea of just how long I've been a customer. The haircuts have never been an issue here, they do a great job at what they do. However, customer service has been an issue a few times before. I'll elaborate further below and tell you the reason for this review and summarize my experience today. I've learned over time that it helps to make an appointment here, otherwise you may end up waiting behind a number of people who have made appointments. Many of whom are women having their hair cut, colored, styled...you get the idea, these appointments take longer than a mens hair cut and without an appointment you might be waiting a good 30-45 minutes. So I made sure to schedule an appointment this time for 10am w/ Leticia.I arrived at the appointment 10 minutes early after getting a coffee with my wife and saw that the open sign wasn't illuminated, however there were a few people inside so I walked in. I immediately saw the mother of the hair stylists Leticia and told her I wasn't sure if they were open because the sign wasn't on / illuminated. She said yes they're open and didn't seem to amused by me pointing out the lack of the sign being on. I'm not sure why, but she almost seemed annoyed that I evened mentioned it. She flicked the sign on, didn't say anything to me, and went back to her work station. She then to my surprise starts to cut a woman's hair starting at 9:55am, which obviously was concerning to me because women's haircuts tend to take some time and my appointment was in five minutes. I kept patient and didn't ask about this. 10am then came and went. I heard nothing from Leticia about why I was still waiting past my appointment time. Her daughter Mindy did walk by and say, "it'll just be a few more minutes" but that was it. She didn't even greet me, no good morning, nothing. At 10:05am Leticia calls for me and says, "you can have a seat now if you want." I sat down thinking that waiting 5 minutes past the appointment time isn't bad, but I'm definitely feeling anxious because I had a medical appointment within the hour that I now had 5 less minutes to get to. I explained to Leticia as she was getting the shears that I was anxious because no one told me why I was still waiting and this is what she said to me, very much so to my surprise because she usually says very little and keeps to herself: "You only waited 5 minutes past your appointment time, IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, YOU CAN GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!" She then continues with, "And next time you can make an appointment with someone else." Her horrible attitude came completely out of nowhere. I explained to her why I was anxious, which was due to her cutting a women's hair during my appointment time and her not explaining to me why. Leticia had absolutely zero empathy and cared less about my position as a customer. As you can judge by her aggressive response of telling me I can go somewhere else, ect she had zero tact when communicating. Oh yeah she also starting cutting my hair extremely fast and nothing like she usually does and when I asked her why she was cutting my hair like that she replied, "because you have to be to your medical appointment, you're in a hurry"...and "I always cut your hair like this." I don't know what in the world got into Leticia this morning, but it was entirely embarrassing and distasteful of her to treat a customer like this. Leticia and all her daughters know me, they know my brothers. We've supported this business for years. Her mother treated me like an absolute dog this morning and Mindy stood by and did nothing about it when I asked her to. I ended up stopping the haircut half way through because I couldn't believe the way Leticia was treating me, from her "you can go somewhere else if you don't like

What a great Hair Salon. ALl of the stylists know how to style hair.There isn't one of them that isn't an artist. If I take a picture in and show them what I want, I walk out with exactly what I wanted.They know how to cut,color and curl. I think it's the best hair salon iin the area.
