The Solon Police Department offers crime protection services for the communities of the city of Solon, Ohio. The Solon Police Department s jail section is a full-service, 25-plus-bed facility that provides housing for misdemeanor prisoners. The department s detective bureau conducts investigations for major felony offenses. It participates in various community-related functions in schools, churches, civic organizations and homeowners associations. The department s auxiliary unit offers health and safety services. Its animal control division responds to domestic and wild life complaints throughout the city. The department conducts victim assistance and Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) programs.
