I was to attend my great niece's first birthday party. This was to celebrate and spend time together with family and friends. I am amazed at how unprofessional the manager of the Community Center has been. The Community Center is a facility up for rent. That makes it a business. Not a "I'll show up if I feel like it" situation for the staff. My family spent a lot of money for food, party decor, etc. It is amazing to me that the woman representing the Center did not show up nor did she answer her phone after repeated attempts to contact her while we waited. Several of us traveled from Charleston or further only to wait over an hour with children expecting a party. Regardless of what this woman's excuse ends up being, she is operating a business and is responsible. If she can't be bothered to do her job, there are many out there that would LOVE to be employed right now. If she is a volunteer, then she needs to take up something else to fill her time that she has the skills to handle.
